LONG TIME...no see.

Not really here to post anything. It's all on facebook. Which is what this is about. I'm considering getting rid of it. Moving far away with 2 of my friends. Today we decided to all elope. All 3 of us at the same time.

Also, at my college we have this food place called 'the commons'. Generic college name for everything. Anyways it's a huge facility that has 9 different buffets, and one is for coffee...awesome right? Yes. So at the beginning of the semester we could grab as many philly cheesteaks or pieces of pizza that we wanted then one day...we had to have 'assistance' and a 2 per trip rule was enforced. Me and my 2 pals wondered why, and one said 'well i saw this guy that got 8 hamburgers the other day...probably him that caused this rule' Until today I never saw this man. But today as I sat and ate my curly fries and risotto (great combo) I'm preeetty sure it was him that sat at the table next to mine.

Let me describe him.

Thinks he's funny, but in fact he is not.
Waaay too loud. Waaay too many fat jokes.
Etc.

Anyways, I think it was him because when they got to the table he said 'I'll watch the stuff and someone get me food' Which I know if code for 'I'll stay here so I don't have to walk back downstairs' It's a 2 story facility FYI.

And they asked what he wanted he responded with '2 pieces of pizza, a grilled cheese and 4 cheesburgers.'

Oh my goodness. I immediately texted my friends and we concluded it was him that ruined it all.

And to top it off, all the cups upstairs where I was were gone so I had to go downstairs to get a cup and back upstairs to get my sweet tea. Then some super nice girl looked over and said 'I brought up a bunch of cups for people!'

Then one of this dude's friend went and took the stack, guess what they did with them? Stacked them on the table in pyramid formation. Geez.

Anyways. That was my day. Guess I had something to say after all.

Question.

I am trying to figure out why Miley Cyrus is panning to write an autobiography. I mean, sure she is a teeny-bopping-diva but still, eventually it will be over and all she will have to remember it is that book she once wrote. It runs in the family, you become famous, write some good songs...then fall off the planet. Just like everyone else Miley, you're gonna fall too.

My REAL question is, are you ever too young to write an autobiography? I ask this because My sister wants to do so, she is 20. And just when you think 'What could you possibly write about' I'll have you know that neither me nor my sister had a good childhood. Yes I know we aren't famous or anything but I think it could be a lot more interesting to read that story than one about Miley throwing hissy fits and being the idol of 10 year olds, who wouldn't have landed that gig if she wasn't Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter. SOOOO....maybe I'm the only one, but I don't find that enthralling at all.

I guess you can't be too young to write a memoir. Since you're never too young to have a past right? Just because I'm not in the public eye doesn't mean people wouldn't find it interesting right?

Hmmm...

Vince ShamWow and Mighty Muggs.

I'll add some photos for your viewing pleasure.
For those who don't know, Vince is the man from the ShamWow commercials, and just when I thought nobody could de-throne king of the infomercial Billy Mays this skinny dude came along. Now, where do I stand on this matter? Billy has been around for years, bringing us many classics such as OxyClean, he is indeed an old favorite. While he not as loud and crazy as Vince ShamWow, yeah I am pretty sure that is what his birth certificate actually says, he can still sell the most ridiculous items.
So Vince Vs. Billy? Who wins? Today this competition goes to the new kid on the block Vince ShamWow, only because he said 'bikini' in one of his commercials I unfortunately saw today. Sometimes I wish I didn't have television. But then I couldn't watch Jeopardy! or National Geographic...educational television!!!
Now on to something slightly more appealing, Mighty Muggs. All of the nerds out their probably know what they are. I'll give you a description...they're these little plastic guys that are made from 100% recycled awesome, whether they are actually recycled or not I don't know. Anyways, they come in various comic/movie/geek personalities. I have Darth Maul, and a few others...The best part about these bad boys is you can get a plain black or plain white mighty mugg and create your own, or just spray a primer on an extra one if you'd rather not order a blank online. The possibilities are endless. Sure it may end up looking awful but who cares, it is your little masterpiece!
Conclusion, I am starting to design my first two. Hopefully they look good, it will probably take a few tries. I will primer paint and shine these babies and carefully place them in their custom made box, which I'll design, take a photo for my portfolio... Then I will mail them off to their future owners. And you don't know them. When I am working on them I'll post some photos of the process and finished product.
Here are some examples of the kinds you can pick up at local toy stores...
I happen to own quite a few...not Venom, but I want him...
Alrighty, now some custom work
Start with the blank black or white.
Then create Master Chief...
Or
A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

That must really take some hard work and skill...

Music I've just discovered.

Alright, a few artists that I recently just listened to, or got pretty into even if I've heard them before.

Animal Collective- Makes me wanna dance...

MGMT- Makes me want to dance even more, even in public.

Brett Dennen- Very relaxing to listen to, as if I am riding shot gun on a trip and I look out into the vast nothingness of land that surrounds me. Music that gets my thoughts wandering to all sorts of various subjects. He is great.

Check them all out. Please.

Short post. I'll do some more music research and put up some of my favorites. I tend to buy CDs that appeal to me even if I haven't listened to the band before. I can't just stick to the same stuff. Of course I have my lifetime favorites, just have to try something new.

Speaking of which, if you think your day needs a little more suspense do what I do...
When I go to a place like Starbucks, they ask what I want and I ask back 'What tastes good?' they suggest something, and I get it. Trying new stuff. New experiences, I have to be open to them. Also... I am trying to learn French...

Vancouver!

Alright. Finally at the hotel after our 2 flights today. It isn't very cold here. I am pleasantly surprised. As well as tired....long day. I didn't sleep on the plane. Tomorrow Brook and I hit up the shopping. Like we need to... I love this place already.

I should buy a house.

PS I am kinda sad that T&S play after BSS friday, but I think I can deal.

I don't know what else I can do whilst I am here. Ideas?

An Horse, lost luggage and falling down on sidewalks.

Alrighty, back with less to say than ever before! Me and my sister hop a plane on wednesday take two flights to get to Vancouver. We are trying to avoid taking luggage other than our carry ons. I know it seems a bit silly, but I don't want to end up on Vancouver with my bag still in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ya' dig? I'll post a blog whilst waiting for my second flight...if I have time.

I know the sidewalks there are going to be death traps. And I know I am going to fall down at some point, or will I? I bought some North Face boots the other day, and not only will my feet stay toasty but they will also keep me from making a fool of myself in public. Like bullet proof vests, short term memory loss and diapers...helpful in those unbearable social situations. Not like I'd know.

We're going to the Tegan and Sara/Broken Social Scene concert Feb. 6th. Ballin'. And we're sitting front row, Sara's side. It will be fantastic. In fact. I'm dressing up for the occasion, wearing my favorite vest. Just for you Sara!

Finally. I'm trying to expose everyone I work with to An Horse, I sneak their songs onto some mix CDs I make to play whilst we work (in the mall) and see how much they like them. It's going well so far.

So buy their album 'Rearrange Beds' on iTunes. Now. Please. Thanks.

I give it 2 thumbs up! Maybe even a high five.

I read Shaun's blog. (simplelifeofarockstar.blogspot.com)
And he reminded me of those 8 year olds I see in the mall talking on their cell phone. I got mine when I was 14, and going to New York, and got texting at 17...but really 8 year olds? It seems like kids have phones before they've learned English properly. Flippin' craaazy.

Later gators.

YouTube is losing it.

Everyone keeps copyrighting their videos on YouTube. So now I can't watch like half of the ones I love to watch. Bummer.

It makes me so happy and it is slowly disappearing...

:(

Sad day.

Better news, Vancouver in a week!!

Also if you haven't listened to it, and you should've because it has been out for a long while now. No excuses.
Listen to The Killers album 'Day and Age'

I especially love this album. Hot Fuss is still my favorite album by The Killers. But this was like a flashback to their synthesizer sound I loved so much back in the day. I'm even wearing my Hot Fuss t-shirt right now.

And if you just happen to be feeling down and aren't lactose intolerant...eat Ben and Jerry's 'Phish Food' ice cream. It is ballin'.
If you are lactose intolerant, you're not alone...seeing as most people become lactose intolerant at some point. Like bee stings, you can become deathly allergic to those things. Weird huh?

I think he was being chased by the fuzz

My sister works at a pizza place. Tonight after her shift ended she chatted with her friend for a while. She took the usual way home. She gets to a stop sign with 2 people behind her. She has her blinker on to turn left. Nobody is coming from the opposite direction. She starts to turn. A guy driving a truck comes out of nowhere. Waiting at the stop sign is too much of a hassle for him. He comes up from behind my sister and the two cars behind her. He is pushing 85 mph. He swerves onto the left side of the road and passes the two cars behind my sister. Obviously he didn't care about how many laws he was breaking. He misses my sister's car by about a foot. He got so close that her car shook. He was going so fast she couldn't even see his license plate number. Or she would've called the police. We have a feeling that he was already being followed by the police. I hope he was. I hope he sisn't hit somone. And I am so grateful that he didn't hit my sister. There's no doubt that it would've killed her instantly. Scary thoughts.

I'm glad she's safe. This just reconfirms that we can't trust other drivers and we can only control ourselves and our reckless driving can change someone's life in an instant.

To lighten the mood...

Michael Scott:

Guess what? I have flaws. What are they? Oh I don't know... I sing in the shower. Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I'll hit somebody with my car. So sue me. No, don't sue me... that's the opposite of the point I'm trying to make.

RECIPE LOVE!!
If you like hummus, have the following ingredients, like to cook and have ten minutes or so. Or if you're a vegetarian, like myself and what something other than salad...

What you'll need

2 (15-ounce) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil, or more as needed, plus more for garnish
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 tablespoons roughly chopped fresh parsley leaves, plus more for garnish
2 cloves garlic, peeled
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dark Asian sesame oil
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cumin
12 to 15 grinds black pepper
1/4 cup water
Paprika, for garnish. Not necessary, but if you have some just sitting about, try it.

Directions

In a blender combine all the ingredients except the parsley and paprika to be used for garnish. Blend on low speed until smooth. You'll have to stop the blender often to push down the ingredients. If the mixture is too dry and you're having trouble blending it, add a few more tablespoons of olive oil to help things along.
Scrape the hummus onto a plate. Sprinkle the paprika over the top, drizzle lightly with olive oil, scatter some parsley on top, and serve. You can make the hummus up to a couple of hours before you serve it. Cover the top with plastic wrap and leave it at room temperature. Eat with chips or my favorite, pita bread.

410 BC, the coolest clothes you haven't worn yet!

If you wake up each morning and look into your flavorless closet of the typical name brand tees and think to yourself, "Dude, I wish I didn't look like everyone else on the planet. I want something different, I want style, comfort and something that screams trendsetter all in one nice wholesome package." Well my friend, I may not be a doctor but I know what you need to fix this disease widely known as conformity. Hit up www.410bc.com.

Simple solution to
the to the lack of sweet clothes in your life. I too used to be just like you, I just didn't know what to wear. After a while it all started to look the same, then I decided to try something new. Yeah maybe you haven't heard of them, but you're reading about them now so I suggest buying some shirts, maybe a hat to go with it. Do you want to know why I like them? Easy. Because it flows with my type of style, it is something that strays away from the usual shirts that I see grace the torsos of my peers. Their designs are a breath of fresh air and I love that. I am a creative person myself so I like to see someone else be creative and making awesome products. The company is different and therefore I think they are amazing. In a world that is ruled by the boring clothing lines and polo shirts, 410 BC is exactly what everyone needs.
Next time you look at that rack of clothes in your closet you'll be a happier person. I promise you that. Sorry, no more Abercrombie or American Eagle, you have something better. Something that is worth wearing everyday. Goodbye old clothes. Hello style.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, they make hoodies too! For all of you that see snow and want to look good while building snowmen.

Living in a material world and I am a material girl

Madonna should've stopped in the 80's. I saw some photos of her 'Hard Candy' album shoot. BEFORE they were photoshopped, and needless to say it was gross. How old is she now? Too old, that's the answer. I guess she just loves performing that she just can't seem to stop, I understand. But it is still a bit creepy.

In other news, I was listening to This American Life today, it's one of those podcasts that make me feel better about how I view life. For some reason. It was interesting to listen to, so download it on iTunes. Please.

We (my sister myself and brother in law) are trying to move out of our apartment. If anyone has ever tried to do that you probably know that it's not easy. Unless it is just our luck and we got stuck with a bunch of morons. One person says put in your notice now and another says do it at the end of the month and then you get this $600 bill to pay that they never told you was coming. My sister and I have a conspiracy theory. Note that she's 19 and her husband is 21, they've been married for a year and a half so they aren't a couple of stupid newlyweds, just in case you were thinking that. The point is, we think that the people at the apartment office believe that they are too stupid to know any better and will just dish out the extra $600. Little do they know the effect of infuriating my sister. We shall see how that goes in a few days. We haven't finished packing yet, turns out we have more stuff than we thought we did. When I move I'm just taking a select few items and then hitting up the nearest IKEA. So I won't have to move all of my stuff.

Has anyone else heard of cops randomly pulling over suspicious teens and claiming they have a light out or turning signal doesn't work, when they both are in working order and the cop just pulled them over to see if they just happen to be under the influence of something. Ridiculous, but I suppose it can help save lives. Hasn't happened to me, in fact I've never been pulled over. Which is funny because I've definitely ran a red light...once. I just didn't notice that it was still red. Nobody was around thank goodness.

Alright, for those of you who don't watch The Office, it comes on tonight at 9pm on NBC. I believe tomorrow you can watch the newest episode  (as well as the past few) online at nbc.com/theoffice. Good show.

Me and my sister leave for Vancouver in 2 weeks. I'm trying to talk her into going to a Canucks game, however neither of us really understand hockey. I do for the most part, I have an ex that loves hockey. I'll try to get into it so we can 'blend in'.

I've tried ice skating before and I am absolutely terrible. But I am pretty spectacular at roller blading. It's a nice skill to have hidden in the depths of mystery that I like to call my abilities. So if I just so happen to have to put some of those suckers on I can surprise everyone.
Like being able to do PreCal and everyone think I am stupid because I complain about math constantly.

But I am not in college or highschool so that never happens.

I think I want to start a new addition to my blogging. Either a review of some sort or perhaps recipes.
I love Food Network and I enjoy cooking, so I could just spread some joy.
Then again I love music and movies and books. I'll do it all, mix it up.

For now you have this.

Pam Beesly:If I have to do this, based on stereotypes that are totally not true and I do not agree with, you would maybe not be a very good driver.
Dwight Schrute:Oh man! Am I a woman?

short and not-so sweet

I have this habit of getting on wikipedia for a sole-purpose of just checking on something. I know the almighty Wiki isn't best known for its accuracy...however I still love it.  So my habit is that everytime I get one there I find something that enthralls me greatly and so I click the bold link and proceed to read...then I do it again and again. I get stuck on Wikipedia for hours, it is pathetic. Here's a rundown of today's Wikipedia-train of thought.

I looked up something to do with cults. I don't know why but I did and this particular Wiki-excursion isn't really that odd...I went from cults to Fred Phelps.

For those of you who don't know who that is, be glad. He's like the worst person that I've ever had the disadvantage of knowing about. If you want to know who he is google (or better yet, wikipedia) him. I swear if I ever saw him I'd punch him in the face. Which is saying a lot, I don't typically condone violence. How can someone have that much hate in them??
I think he's completely delusional and thinks he himself is god. I'm not religious, at all but I'm not a hater on everyone else's lives/thoughts/beliefs... His tyranny is unbelievable!
-Protesting at funerals
-Claiming all natural disasters are because god hates the sinners that died as a result of said disasters
-Protesting other churches and their followers
the list goes on.

I want a natural disaster (preferably lightning) to strike him in the face.

Apparently EVERYONE besides ol' Fred himself is going to hell.
It's gonna be a party and he's the only one not invited.

On a brighter note...
I've been trying to compile a list of good movies that I should watch.
That I haven't seen before that is.

I'm looking for older movies not just the newer films gracing the big screen nowadays. However an exception is Slumdog Millionaire, I do want to see that one.

I'll get back to this.

P.S. NEVER watch 'The House Bunny' that movie is absolutely awful, like the 90's version of Romeo and Juliet...

Here's a favorite quote-
Michael Scott: Would I rather be feared or loved? Umm. Easy. Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.

No Casualties Yet!

Why are people such awful drivers!? Seriously, of course I'm not trying to label everyone, obviously I drive so why would I do that. I just don't trust anyone at all on the road, oh I think I'll wait for that car so I can turn left...*car turns without blinker* Nice, now I get to wait 5 minutes for the light to change.

I haven't gotten in any accidents yet, nor have I ever been pulled over. I just don't get what is so hard about driving.

You know what song I like to listen to 'mawell murder' by Rancid. Its short and has a ballin' bass solo. But it also makes me want to punch someone.

Speaking of punching! Me and my sister explained to someone today that we never go into physical fights as youngsters. Is that normal, we are close in age and yeah I've thrown full water bottles at her head and broken her nose (accidentally) 3 times. But nothing more...I hate violence.

Still haven't reached that smart part of my brain yet.

Give me a little while.

Dwight Schrute:Rule 17: Don't turn your back on bears, men you have wronged, or the dominant turkey during mating season. There are forty rules all Schrute boys must learn before the age of five. [starts singing a nursery rhyme]Learn your rules. You better learn your rules. If you don't you'll be eaten in your sleep!

Brrr it's cold in here

But not as cold as Vancouver will be!
Finally I get to leave the country. Yeah I know it is only for a few days, but hey I could certainly be content for a while as long as I can get out of the GA for a small trip.
Nobody reads myspace or facebook anymore, or atleast they don't read mine.
Today I got my hair cut, my sister went along. We talked about travel and I asked how she'd pay for it and she replied, 'I'll marry a rich man'
Sad thing, she is already married. Well, actually that isn't sad at all really. I just got me thinking, how can you get married at 18? There's a whole world just waiting to rip your heart apart. Why miss out on that? I just don't see how it ever works, you're so young and...stupid. I won't ever get married at the rate I'm going. But it isn't for everyone, just like college, and I can vouch for that one too.

Happy thoughts, The Office is back from it's mid-season hiatus!! I am a little late on announcing this since it came back thursday. The point is it was hilarious as usual. And just for the record I'm team Andy. If you haven't watched that, you should. I fills me with happiness every thursday at 9 pm.

Also things to take into consideration when wondering what to do with your boredom.

+read these blogs and comment
+find some new music, like the indiefeed podcast on iTunes.
+watch my lame youtube videos.
+find me on myspace

Maybe when I think of something good to say I'll post another blog but for now I'm sorry this is lame. I'll try to tap into my intellectual side.

Here's an Office quote to ease the pain.

Dwight Schrute:In the Schrute family we believe in a five-fingered intervention. [raises fist] Awareness. Education. Control. Acceptance. And punching.
